The Sea & the Sun -- Metaphors, Myths, and Masks: Meaning-Making Through Images (σε συνεργασία με το Drama Therapy Institute of Los Angeles και την Pam Dunne)

Weeklong Drama Therapy Workshop in
Athens, Greece -- June 23-30, 2019
The Sea & the Sun -- Metaphors, Myths, and Masks:
Meaning-Making Through Images

Participants will create, perform, interpret and revise meaning-making through embodiment, by telling and re-telling of transformational stories, and using objects, bodies, masks, archetypes, interviews, writings and myths.  The workshop is informed by neurobiology, ethnodrama, autoethnography, and narrative therapy; participants will make personal discoveries based on values and preferences. They will make connections to others through collecting stories for retelling during a one-day fieldwork opportunity in the nearby town of Lavrio. This program is designed to accommodate both professional development and personal growth. Generally, workshops begin each morning and end by mid-afternoon to allow time to tour the area and attend cultural events.

The program will be led by Pam Dunne Ph.D., RDT-BCT, the Director of the Drama Therapy Institute of Los Angeles. She is the recipient of the 2016 Gertrud Schattner Award for recognition of distinguished contribution to the field of drama therapy in education, publication, practice, and service.
