Weeklong Drama Therapy Workshop in
Athens, Greece -- June 23-30, 2019
The Sea & the Sun -- Metaphors, Myths, and Masks:
Meaning-making through ImagesFor local residents of Greece
Drama Therapy Institute of Los Angeles & Creative Therapies Center
2019 Summer Abroad Program

Through a telling and re- telling of transformational stories --using objects, bodies, masks, archetypes, interviews, writings and myths-- participants will create, perform, interpret and revise meaning-making through embodiment. In this workshop informed by neurobiology, ethnodrama, autoethnography, and narrative therapy, participants will make personal discoveries, based on values and preferences. They will make connections to others through collecting stories for retelling during a one-day fieldwork opportunity in the nearby town of Lavrio. This program is designed to accommodate both professional development and personal growth. Generally, workshops begin each morning and end by mid-afternoon to allow time to tour the area and attend cultural events.
