The Method Explained

The Developmental Ritualistic Model of Interconnectedness
This model draws inspiration from developmental theories, archetypal psychology, and anthropological research and the wisdom that comes from it.  The framework also integrates symbolic narratives, blending time and space into the fabric of the process to restore ‘good enough’ connections.

In order to support you in achieving a sense of  interconnectedness, heal and renew your sense of purpose, the facilitators incorporate a wide range of powerful techniques.  These include sensory stimulation, projective actions, role-playing, myth, storytelling, symbolization of time and space as well as the creation of mandalas and other symbolic narratives

This eight week workshop is for anyone interested in exploring their experience through metaphor, embodiment and myth such as creative arts therapists, social workers, wellness and life coaches, group facilitators, actors, theatre workers and activists.

My interview about Ethnodrama to Dr. Kamran Afary for his students (Communication Studies) in California State University (με ελληνικούς υποτίτλους)

Kamran Afary.

Ένα δραματοθεραπευτικό μήνυμα από το σπίτι κατά την διάρκεια της καραντίνας (A drama therapy message from home during the lockdown)

(Τhe text in english, if you don't want to use google translator here, is following the video on the youtube).

Coronavirus Art and Research Independant Project: "Safe contact, reinforce community"

                                                                    INVITATION
                                                                (participation free)

"The usualy vibrating city of Kifissia, northern of Athens, yesterday at 10.00 pm was extremely empty. No cars, no people. All the carnavals, some few days ago, everywhere in the country, have been canceled. Only the smell of the trees still remain to remind that spring is here and invites us  to be out, to be together, to fall in love. What a big contradiction!  How to say to all these teens who are living their own spring, not to touch each other,  not to kiss, not to hug, and to avoid social spacies? And until when? " .

(A personal confession from Athens-Greece, Saturday 7 of March, 2020)
                                          ----------------------------------------------------------

Coronavirus is a global thread and our everyday habbits are changing and must be changed for avoiding a futher contamination and for helping ourselves, others and the medical systems to face the pandemic phenomenon.

Under these circumstances, new social and psychological phenomena are born every day. New conditions where individuals, as also communities, have to understand for avoiding panic and be as much as possible efficiant to face the problem. Collective fear is growing up and people avoid social contact. Many social, business, artistic and athletic events are postponing or canceling to avoid contamination. People are staying at home.

This is an open invitation for everyone from any country,  who feels the need to be together with others! For anyone who wants to share and co-create with expressive medias, combining personal narratives and different arts with the help of simple digital technologies.  For anyone who wants to reinforce  his social self, reflect with others, share, collaborate, and finaly belong  and feel connected with a global community.  COVID-19 doesn't recognize neither ethnicities, neither international borders. Maybe we could transform the thread in a collective creation, a symbolic production which will also be open-exhibit to everyone into the Web and maybe later on other places too.

Our media will be arts and simple technologies, such as a smart phone, and participants need to have the basic knowledge to share digital archives. In this project, the aim is to feel connected in a critical period where human contact looks dangerous and social meetings in open public place are avoiding.

Virtual communities are also human communities, as social bonding, relations and feelings are real.

The program will be running for two years, until the end of march 2022. Until that time, the participants can contribute in the time they are available. The communication will be asynchronic for the biggest part of this project and everyone will contribute depending on his/her availability. For futher information and participation, please contact me: dimitrastavrou@gmail.com

Idea: Dimitra Stavrou psychologist-dramatherapist.

This is an independant research and artistic project. It doesn't take any financial support from any organisation, but remains open to donnations. It is independent for avoiding possible bureaucratic delay as time is critical as coronavirus is transmitted so quickly.
Please feel free to contribute and support this independant research project with any amount:
